You are right. I´m banned for "Securom bashing". I´m banned for informing gamers, that´s it. All forum members recognize my report was accurate. All except Chris Priestly, which says I repeteadly bashed Securom and I´m perm banned for it.

That's absurd. Till this moment I respected C.Priestly and thought he is an honorable person. Now, all my sympathy is gone. Is it really implemented in the forum rules, that mentioning securom isn't allowed ? I don't think so. Your posts (I didn't read'em all) seem to be totally related to the problem and your detailed and founded conclusion was that securom causes the problems many player faced. Now it's not allowed to talk about it ? That's pure ignorance.  2no_2 Also, you have pinpointed the problem and the guys from BW made a hotfix that removes the disc-check and all are happy. BW, Atari, Obsidian and many players should be thankful. And as an award for your help they stole your idea and ban you from the forum. Unbelievable.  HotMad I just say: GO HOME Mr. Priestly.  2drillsergeant

The NWN 2 isn´t supposed to be his area

I don't really handle the NwN2 forums. You would likely be better off discussing it with an Obsidian representative.

SecuROM isn't removed; the release notes say it's "modified."

Check the executable file and debug it. If I say there´s no Securom, there is no Securom. Notice that this exe is smaller than the previous ones.

check nwn2main.exe and nwn2main_amd.exe. A visible fact is that you can no longer right click and launch analysis

You can use Protection ID to confirm this too.

And why does HE says that instead of an obsidian representative ? Don'tKnow
Besides, I have become familiar with the moderating style of Mr. Priestly in the Mass Effect forum as well. Not much of a difference. Rolleyes

Because Grinning Fool came to report my posts to him, as he didn´t like them either. Maybe he has Securom stocks  Don'tKnow

So it's safe to buy this and the expansions now? Would be quite angry if I bought the game it was still infested.

OK, I understand those companies have contracts with SONY DADC /Securom. But that's not a fair way to deal with the problem and  forum members that only want to help to get the game running.  Huh
Anyway, I have NWN 2 played a long time ago and really enjoyed it in the patch state it was at that time. So no need to patch up. BigGrin

Concerning forums, moderators and treatment of customers. We went through the same sort of acid bath with Ubisoft over Star-force. I think even to this day, some will never purchase a Ubi title again (I know of a few). Most people soon forget, but I won't. Even though I purchase their games, I still shudder when I see the logo. Experiences like those don't fade away quickly when you become heavily involved. I don't go near the Ubi forums no matter what the reason.

Speaking of that, there was a general ban lift on Ubi forums in 2008, guess who were the exceptions to the unbanning? yes, 13thHouR and Soulcommander. Still banned.

Most of the unbanned were swearing trolls which didn´t deserver it. But I guess it is a major sin to tell the truth sometimes  Rolleyes

IIRC, the expansions are still infected. Except Mysteries of Westgate had its activation limits removed I recall? Huh

I have BOTH MOTB & SOZ. The executable file is the same for all NWN 2 versions. There is no more Securom on ANY NWN 2 version.

Patch whatever NWN 2 game you have and securom is a goner  BigGrin

MAtt, please drop the expansions from the infected list
